Scubalamp SUPE OSD Optical Snoot Shaping Device
The SUPE OSD (optical shaping device) sets itself apart from other snoots with its unique approach to modifying the beam of light. Rather than relying on conventional masks, it incorporates an ingenious built-in aperture system, offering a selection of eight different aperture sizes. Whether you desire a narrow beam or a wider one, achieving your desired effect is as simple as adjusting the aperture using a convenient knob located on the OSD's side.
Crafted from durable aluminum, the SUPE OSD boasts exceptional sturdiness. Its employment of glass lenses not only enhances the focus and strength of the emitted light but also ensures superior light quality from the strobe. With compact dimensions of 117mm x 114mm x 99mm and a weight of 522g, this device strikes the perfect balance between functionality and portability.
The OSD is designed to be compatible with a range of strobes, including the Scubalamp D-Max and D-Max Pro, Seacam 150D, Ikelite 161 and 160, Retra, Sea&Sea YSD2 and YSD3, as well as the popular INON Z-330 and the older INON Z-240 models.
Attaching the OSD to your strobe requires specialized adaptors tailored to each strobe type. Each adaptor consists of a plastic collar that securely clips onto the front of the strobe. This collar is then fastened with a metal clamp, ensuring a firm connection. The OSD itself effortlessly mounts onto a bayonet fixture located on the plastic collar, and a spring-loaded button ensures a secure lock. If you wish to capture photos without the snoot effect during a dive, removing the OSD is a hassle-free process.
Additionally, the OSD features a practical groove on its neck, allowing for easy attachment of a lanyard for added convenience and security.
